Burial at Sea in California
From San Diego’s naval harbor to the redwood coast at Eureka, California offers more burial at sea departure points than any other state we serve. The Pacific here is protected by marine sanctuaries, crossed by whales, and framed by some of America’s most beautiful coastline — a majestic setting for a final farewell.
Sea Services has arranged burials at sea and ash scatterings along the California coast since 1991. Every service is performed by U.S. Coast Guard–licensed captains in full compliance with EPA regulations, a minimum of three nautical miles from shore, aboard Coast Guard–approved vessels.
